Houston Hillel enriches the lives of Jewish undergraduate students, graduate students and young professionals so that they may enrich the Houston Jewish community, the Jewish people and the world.

For more than eighty years at Rice University, sixty years at the University of Houston, and decades serving more than a dozen other Houston-area institutions of higher learning and young professionals, Houston Hillel has created Jewish memories for generations of Jewish students. We operate the Hillel Student Center adjacent to Rice University and the Houston Hillel Student Lounge at the University of Houston. The Hillel Student Center serves as a focal point for Jewish student life and a Houston Jewish community resource.

Houston Hillel has a rich history and tradition in Houston's Jewish student community. No other organization in the area provides similar programs or services, and Houston Hillel is the only agency in Houston dedicated to providing rabbinical support to Jewish college students. Houston Hillel’s students regularly seek out Rabbi Kenny Weiss, Houston Hillel's Rabbi and Executive Director, during times of happiness, sadness and crisis.
