Rabbi Kenny
Weiss is the Rabbi and Executive Director
for Houston Hillel: The Foundation for
Jewish Campus Life, and Lecturer in
Religious Studies at the University of
Houston. Prior to arriving in Houston,
Rabbi Weiss served as a congregational rabbi
in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and
Washington, D.C. He has degrees in
Communication and Wilderness Studies from
the University of California at San Diego,
a Secondary Social Studies Teaching
Credential from the University of Colorado
in Boulder, along with a Masters Degree in
Hebrew Letters and Rabbinical Ordination
from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute
of Religion.
Rabbi Weiss is the chair of the
Central Conference of American Rabbis Ad Hoc
Committee on the Campus Rabbinate, and is a
Past President of the
Houston Rabbinical
Association. He is
married to Rabbi Amy Weiss, Executive
Director of
The Initiative for Jewish Women,
and they enjoy spending time with their
sons, Eli and Joshua.
If you wake up
early enough on Sunday mornings you might
find Kenny cruising around town on his
unicycle and listening to the Grateful Dead.
