Sponsor a Shabbat

 

Every Friday night students flock to the Hillel Student Center for our FREE weekly Shabbat service and dinner. There are no barriers to participation. No reservations are required. Students just show up, and as our tradition tells us, there is always a place at our table.  The warm, friendly environment that encourages students to return for other programs.

 

We need your help. In order to continue offering Shabbat Dinners and the wide array of programming throughout the year, we rely on community, parent and alumni support. Please consider one of the following Sponsorship Levels to enable us to continue offering Friday Night dinners which have become so important to our students.

• Shabbat Sponsorship: For your donation of $1,000 you can sponsor an entire Shabbat dinner

• Joint Sponsorship: Join with friends and family to jointly sponsor a Shabbat dinner with a combined donation of $1,000 or more

You must see it to believe it, but trust us! Shabbat dinner at Houston Hillel is a most inspiring experience.

 

As parents and grandparents, we hope that our children and grandchildren will maintain their Jewish identity as they embark on their adult lives. Houston Hillel has accomplished what we all hope for — hundreds of students joining together for a Shabbat dinner because they want to, because they enjoy being together and because it adds meaning to their lives.

 

They get what they want and we get what we want — young adults remaining actively Jewish.
